Supervisor of Civilians was originally a half self-paced elearning and half in-person course. When COVID prevented in-person sessions from happening, the Coast Guard decided to transition to a virtual instructor-led course. I worked with stakeholders, approximately a dozen SMEs, and five ISDs to combine all the content into one course.

To design the course, I filled out worksheets to organize the terminal performance and enabling objectives, outline engagement activities, and lay out each PowerPoint. Once the worksheets were approved by the SMEs, I developed templates with a uniform look and feel. The layouts and formatting allowed for easy use and revision, and they display well onscreen, projected, and when printed.

After receiving approval on the templates, the PowerPoint and instructor guide for each lesson was built, along with any job aids or handouts needed.
